Drishyam duo Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph are ready for their second straight OTT release – 12th Man. While it’s been a few months since the film wrapped up shooting, the team has finally completed its post-production and are all set for the release.

Mohanlal had completed dubbing his portions in the movie a month ago and now the team has finished all post-production works of the film, which is set to release on Disney+ Hotstar as its Vishu offering to its subscribers on April 14.

The movie is touted to be a mystery thriller and is scripted by KR Krishna Kumar, who is also working with Jeethu in his next movie Kooman, which has Asif Ali in the lead. 12th Man, the story of which spans 24 hours, has an ensemble cast featuring Mohanlal, Unni Mukundan, Rahul Madhav, Saiju Kurup, Priyanka Nair, Anusree, Anu Sithara, Sshivada, G Chandunath and Anu Mohan.

In an earlier interview with us, Jeethu had said that the film is very different from Drishyam and is more akin to Agatha Christie’s novels. The filmmaker also told us that the film tells the story of 12 people and about 90% of the movie is shot in a single location.

Incidentally, Mohanlal was supposed to act in 12th Man first and then do Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Bro Daddy, which was also a direct-to-OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar. However, the surge in COVID-19 cases in Kerala last year and only limited shooting permissions had the superstar join Bro Daddy’s shoot that was shifted to Hyderabad, and later work on 12th Man.

The film marks the third collaboration between Mohanlal and Jeethu, after Drishyam and Drishyam 2. The duo had also shot about 50% of Ram ahead of the pandemic in 2020 and is expected to resume the action-thriller by June this year in London.
