Jeethu Joseph finally gives an explicit answer on Drishyam 4

Malayalam filmmaker Jeethu Joseph has made close to 20 films, but every time he faces a media interaction, the director is bombarded with questions on his flagship franchise, Drishyam. The upcoming installment from the thriller franchise is set to release on April 2, 2026. The Malayalam director was recently asked about Drishyam 4, and this time, Jeethu Joseph gave a clear answer, stating that he wishes to put an end to it.

What Jeethu Joseph said about Drishyam 4

During a media interaction for his latest movie Vallathu Vashathe Kallan, Jeethu Joseph was asked about his upcoming film and whether there would be a Drishyam 4.

The filmmaker was visibly taken aback by the question, and responded with “Njan swapanthil polum vicharichitila. (translates to I have not even thought of it in my dreams)”.

The filmmaker further said, “I am trying to end this. Because even people are asking - Nithikoode (can't you stop it). That’s why.”

Earlier, Jeethu Joseph had said that even he doesn't know if there is a possibility for a fourth part . But now he has clearly stated that he does not wish to continue with the popular franchise.

The first movie Drishyam was released in 2013, and became a blockbuster hit and spawning remakes in several languages. The second Drishyam was released directly on Prime Video during the pandemic and was a raging hit on OTT as well. Fans are now counting down to Drishyam 3, which is exactly two months away. The Hindi Drishyam 3, starring Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn, will release in theatres on October 2, 2026.
