Jewel Thief teaser: Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat's film is a deja vu of Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year but somehow better

The teaser of Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat's Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins is here and it brings the vibe of Shah Rukh Khan-Farah Khan's 2014 film, Happy New Year. Although it has the vibe of the movie, Jewel Thief definitely has an upper hand with a more intriguing plot. Of course, an actor like Jaideep joining the cast only adds to the excitement. Jewel Thief is about The Red Sun

Happy New Year was about Shalimar and Jewel Thief is about The Red Sun. The difference though is, that Saif negotiates the price for The Red Sun with Jaideep. The original price for it is Rs. 500 crore, and the negotiation for it is one of the highlights of the teaser.

Saif Ali Khan dons various looks

The teaser sees Saif in at least three different looks, suggesting he has taken three identities so far. There are a lot of slaps, stabbing, and oomph, in the teaser.

The one thing that differentiates Happy New Year from Jewel Thief

We hear Saif state that he will have to disappear. Even Jaideep is surprised and asks him how would he do that mid-flight. "Gaayab hawa mein hi hote hai, Mr Aulak," Saif's character is heard saying.

Backed by Pathaan and War director Siddharth Anand, Jewel Thief also stars Kunal Kapoor. It is helmed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal.

Directed by Farah Khan, Happy New Year featured SRK, Deepika Padukone, Vivaan Shah, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani, and Jackie Shroff in the lead roles. Jackie played the antagonist, while the others were a team in the heist.

Saif praised Jaideep and said he couldn't have asked for a better co-star and called Jewel Thief a 'lovely movie.' Jaideep is just happy to have good stories and people to work with.

Jewel Thief will be released on Netflix. The makers are yet to reveal the release date of the movie.
