Jigarthanda Double X first review by Dhanush: 'The last 40 minutes...'

Actor-filmmaker Dhanush seems to be blown away by director Karthik Subbaraj's latest movie Jigarthanda Double X. On the eve of the film's wide release, Dhanush took to social media to share his review of Jigarthanda Double X. 

While praising Karthik Subbaraj's craftmanship, Dhanush heightened the anticipation by urging audiences to pay special attention to the final "40 minutes".

"Watched jigarthandaxx. Fantastic craft from @karthiksubbaraj , being amazing has become an usual deal for @iam_SJSuryah . As a performer @offl_Lawrence is a revelation. @Music_Santhosh u r a beauty. The last 40 mins of d film steals your heart. All the best to the crew and cast," tweeted Dhanush.

Dhanush's high praise for Jigarthanda Double X will likely boost its performance at the box office. 

Dhanush earlier worked with Karthik in Jagame Thandhiram. In the 2021 film, he played the role of a racist with a sensitive side. The superstar had made no bones about his displeasure with the producers for putting Jagame Thandhiram directly on the streaming. However, based on his review for Jigarthanda Double X, his past grievances haven't affected his personal rapport with Karthik.

Jigarthanda Double X is a very important film for Karthik as it marks the director's big-screen comeback after more than four years. This theatrical hiatus in his career was caused by the pandemic as both his previous movies, including Jagame Thandhiram and Mahaan, were given a direct-to-OTT release citing the situation caused by the pandemic. 

Jigarthanda Double X is the second instalment in the Jigarthanda franchise. Karthik became a force to reckon with the blockbuster success of his 2014 movie Jigarthanda. It remains to be seen whether he can repeat the success with the sequel. 

Jigarthanda Double X stars Raghava Lawrence, and SJ Suryah in the lead roles, while Shine Tom Chacko, Nimisha Sajayan, Naveen Chandra, Sathyan and Aravind Akash have played the supporting roles.
