Ahead of the release of his upcoming movie Jigarthanda Double X, filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj has revealed his dream cast for the movie and it is superstars Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.
Karthik tweeted a poster of Jigarthanda Double X. Instead of Raghava Lawrence, and SJ Suryah, the poster was photoshopped to feature Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. "I kept Dreaming to my AD team that if i was born decades earlier i would have made... #JigarthandaDoubleX with Thalaivar & UlagaNayagan...... My associate director @mahesbalu17 took that seriously.....," tweeted Karthik.
Not just for Karthik, it has been a long-awaited dream for all fans of Tamil cinema to see Rajinikanth and Kamal together on the big screen. By the time Rajinikanth entered the Tamil film industry in the late 70s, Kamal was already a big star.

Rajinikanth was initially limited to playing side roles in Kamal's movies. Later, he was gratudated for playing negative roles. However, soon Rajinikanth landed his first role as a leading man in Bairavi (1978) and the rest, as they say, is history.
In the past, Kamal had revealed that he and Rajinikanth mutually agreed to stop their onscreen collaboration to fully tap into their individual potential. Before parting ways, Rajinikanth and Kamal shared screen space in as many as 18 movies.
However, this decision did not affect the personal relationship between them. If anything, their friendship has only grown stronger and endured some challenging times in the film industry.
Jigarthanda Double X is the sequel to Karthik's breakout hit Jigarthanda (2014). Billed as a spiritual sequel, the film borrows the core premise from its predecessor. It tells the story of an aspiring filmmaker trying to make a movie with a real-life gangster in the lead.
Jigarthanda Double also stars Nimisha Sajayan, Shine Tom Chacko, Naveen Chandra and Sathyan.
