Jigarthanda Double X: Karthik Subbaraj unveils SJ Suryah and Lawrence's appearances from the actioner

The announcement of a sequel to Jigarthanda by director Karthik Subbaraj himself a while ago had sent Tamil film lovers into a tizzy. The movie, which was released in 2014, became a turning point in the career of many actors and technicians. Bobby Simha and Siddharth had played lead roles in the movie which was a success critically and commercially.  

The sequel to the project kicked off in Madurai recently. The filmmaker took to Twitter to unveil a short teaser of the second installment which has been titled as Jigarthanda Double X.

The three-minute promo video features SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence as a crooked gangster and a welder-cum-ruffian respectively. The face-off sequence between the two are staged in an intriguing manner complemented by musician Santhosh Narayanan. S Thirunavukkarasu's visuals are pleasing to watch and is another attraction of the teaser.

Kaarthekeyen Santhanam and Kathiresan are bankrolling the movie which has action choreography by Dhilip Subbarayan and editing by Shafique Mohamed Ali. T Santanam and Balasubramanian are in charge of art direction and production design respectively. Movie buffs are now eagerly waiting to know about other actors in the project.

Both Suryah and Lawrence took to social media to express their excitement over being part of the film. Suryah said that he is happy to team up with Karthik for the second time as well as with self-made star Lawrence. The latter, on the other hand, said that he was keen on working under Karthik's direction for a long time.

Kollywood film lovers are excited to see two powerhouse actors joining hands for the first time. Jigarthanda Double X is expected to release in theatres in 2023.
