Jigris out on OTT: Where to stream Ram Nithin's comedy caper online

The year 2025 witnessed the release of several Telugu films, but only a handful managed to strike gold at the box office. While a few emerged as massive hits, the majority failed to make an impact commercially. 

Among the films that struggled at the box office was Jigris, a new-age Telugu comedy caper that featured mostly newcomers in the lead roles. The youthful drama was also promoted well as the likes of Prabhas released the trailer.

After weeks of uncertainty, the latest update brings some relief to the makers, as Sun NXT has acquired the digital rights for a nominal price and has now begun streaming the film. The movie is also available for viewing on OTTplay Premium.

When did Ram Nithin's Jigris hit the screens?

Jigris released theatrically on November 14, 2025, amid decent expectations. However, the film failed to connect with audiences and ended its theatrical run as a commercial disaster. It was out of theaters in just four days of its release.

Following its underwhelming performance, the film also struggled to secure a digital streaming partner for a long time, further adding to its woes. 

The film stars Krishna Burugula, Ram Nithin, who rose to fame with MAD, along with Mani Vaka and Dheeraj Athreya. Jigris marks the directorial debut of Harish Reddy Uppula, who attempted to present a youthful comedy with a contemporary touch. 

The music for the film was composed by Syed Kamran, and while the soundtrack did not make a major splash, it did complement a few light-hearted and decent comedy moments in the narrative. But it is the second half that let the film down at the box office.

Jigris gets sidelined thanks to Little Hearts' massive success

Unfortunately for Jigris, it was overshadowed by Little Hearts, another comedy entertainer that released around the same time and went on to become a smash hit. With audiences flocking to that film, Jigris failed to gain visibility.

Interestingly, several Telugu films that flopped in theaters have recently found a second life on OTT platforms. A notable example is Mowgli, starring Roshan Kanakala, which underperformed theatrically but garnered impressive viewership on ETV Win and OTTplay Premium. Whether Jigris will follow a similar trajectory on digital platforms remains to be seen.
