John Wick 4 teaser reveals year long delay and new release date

As Keanu Reeves makes his long awaited return as Neo in The Matrix Resurrections, there is some disappointing news for the star’s fans. The actor’s highly anticipated movie John Wick 4 gets a delay in the release date. 

Lionsgate released the first teaser for the fourth instalment in the John Wick series, but the teaser came with big disappointment for the fans. In a scene that mirrors the scene where the bounty was originally placed on the head of John Wick, the fans got a new release date for the movie written on the chalkboard.

The teaser reveals that the movie will now be released on March 24, 2023, which means the movie gets a delay of nearly a year from its original May 2022 release date. 

The movie was set to be the second big action movie starring Keanu Reeves that was set to release in 2022 along with The Matrix Resurrections.

The screenplay for the movie is written by Michael Finch and Shay Hatten while Stahelski, Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee produce. The franchise through three movies has racked up $584.7M at the worldwide box office. 

John Wick: Chapter 4 is directed by Chad Stahelski and stars Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, Lance ReddickRina Sawayama, Bill Skarsgård and Clancy Brown apart from Reeves.

John Wick follows the titular hitman, who comes back from retirement following the death of his wife, after his dog is killed and his car is stolen. While the series once again confirmed the caliber and status of Reeves as an action star, the franchise also became popular with the fans.
