Telugu superstar Jr NTR is quite upbeat about making his debut at the Oscars red carpet this Sunday. After staying away from the Oscar spotlight for some time due to his personal situation, earlier this week Tarak joined the main cast and crew of RRR in the US. Ahead of the big event, the star spoke to a popular entertainment channel discussing all the efforts that went into making the magnum opus.

Tarak said that he will "carry his nation" in his heart while walking the red carpets at the Oscars."What else would an actor or filmmaker ask for? To be part of the biggest celebration of cinema, globally, the Oscars. That day we're not going to walk the red carpet as actors of RRR. I'm not going to walk like an actor from the Indian film industry. I'm going to walk that red carpet as an Indian with pride filled in my heart, carrying my nation in my heart," he told Entertainment Tonight.

Jr NTR stayed away from RRR's Oscar campaign in the US to be with his family. He was mourning the loss of his mourning the death of his cousin Nandamuri Taraka Ratna , who passed away in February.

RRR has been nominated for the Oscars in the best original song category. The film's dance anthem Naatu Naatu is a global smash. The high-voltage dance performance of Tarak and Ram Charan is one of the main reasons behind the phenomenal success of RRR. The film has made a splash in the US, winning top honours at almost all the prestigious award shows.
