The trailer of Kaadhal Enbathu Podhu Udamai, an upcoming Tamil film starring Lijomol Jose, Rohini, and others, was released by various celebrities on social media on Thursday, January 30. The film is set to be released in theatres for the occasion of Valentine's Day on February 14.

For the first time in Tamil cinema, a queer film that talks about same-sex romance will be released for Valentine's Day. Kaadhal Enbathu Podhu Udamai is a Tamil film that stars an ensemble cast including Lijomol Jose, Rohini, Vineeth, Anusha, Kalesh, and others. The film talks about the same-sex relationship between two girls.

The trailer of the film is now out. The trailer begins with Rohini's voiceover about the concept of love, and how one should let it loose. We see a girl confessing to her mother that she is in love. The family is getting prepared to meet the protagonist's love, as we get to know that she is in love with another woman. The family goes through turmoil, as we see each of the characters going through different arcs of emotions.

The trailer shows a poignant take on love and how it is common for all, irrespective of gender. Kaadhal Enbathu Podhu Udamai is expected to be a progressive take on homosexuality, as the film delicately handles the concept of romance seeing no gender bar.

Kaadhal Enbathu Podhu Udamai is all set to hit big screens on February 14 right in time for Valentine’s Day. Directed by Jayaprakash Radhakrishnan, who earlier made films like Thalaikoothal, Lens, and Mosquito Philosophy, the upcoming film has music scored by Kannan Narayanan. The film is produced by Jomon Jacob, Nithiyah Atputharajah, Dijo Augustine, Vishnu Rajan, and Sajin S Raj, with Jeo Baby and G. Dhananjeyan presenting it. Dani Charles is the editor and Sree Saravanan has cranked the camera.
