Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, starring Nayanthara, Samantha and Vijay Sethupathi, is gearing up for a theatrical release on April 28. The multi-starrer rom-com is one of the much-awaited Tamil films of the year, and shows of the movie will begin as early as 4 am in many theatres in Tamil Nadu.
The film directed by Vignesh Shivan is his theatrical release after the Suriya-starrer Thaanaa Serndha Koottam (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) which hit the screens in 2018. Love Panna Uttranum, one of the segments in the anthology Paava Kadhaigal, (streaming on Netflix) was his last directorial project.
The director has now taken to Twitter to thank his assistant directors and posted a couple of pictures with them. His tweet read, "My team ! Starting from Senthil anna … the best set of ADs I’ve ever had! .. thank you guys for giving your best ! Your 100 percent ! Staying together through thick & thin. it’s a team that always sets the mood for any work! U guys were so good to me ! Thank you forever (sic)."
One of the pictures also has Nayanthara and the movie's music composer Anirudh. The film marks the musician's 25th project; a few songs have already been celebrated by music lovers and others.
It's perhaps after a long time that two big female stars are coming together along with a male star for a Tamil movie. Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara had shared screen space together earlier twice. Though Samantha and Vijay Sethupathi acted in Super Deluxe (streaming on Netflix), there were no sequences which had them together.
Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal is expected to release in Telugu as well under the title KRK. Nayan, Sam and Sethupathi play Kanmani, Khatija and Rambo respectively in this love triangle.
