On April 14, director & producer R. Chandru shared the first official poster of Kabzaa 2 and confirmed that the sequel is in the making. The poster includes an empty chair and a rifle leaning on it, two elements that directly refer to Shiva Rajkumar's character in the storyline.
For the unversed, Shivanna makes a blink-and-miss cameo appearance in the concluding moments of Kabzaa which also feature Upendra and Kiccha Sudeep. The film then ends at a cliffhanger with the Century Star's inclusion in the mix upping the ante and lending the sequel a great point of conflict to take off from.
But will Shiva Rajkumar be the main lead in Kabzaa 2? When R. Chandru was asked this question recently by a YouTube channel, he was unwilling to confirm or deny and instead shared that the film will not only boast Upendra, Sudeep and Shiva Rajkumar but two other big stars from the Telugu and Tamil film industries.
"I don't want to share any information right now and create any kind of hype. All I can ask people is to wait and I will bring out the details at the right time - that said, there will two big stars from Telugu and Tamil joining the team. If you thought Kabzaa was pan-India, Kabzaa 2 will be pan-world," said R. Chandru in the interview.

In the same vein, Chandru spoke about the harsh criticism directed towards him in the recent past. Kabzaa, which was billed as the 'next big thing' from the Kannada Film Industry, failed to live up to the hype and was severely panned by both critics and audiences. Social media users, in particular, have been dismissive of all the claims made by the team about the box office figures and other 'success' factors of the film. Many even urged R. Chandru to not make the second part.
"I can't claim that I have won and blindly make Kabzaa 2. The fact that I am making the film is proof enough that my film was a success," said Chandru, addressing all the critical comments.
