Producer S Sashikanth, whose last outing was Netflix's Dhanush-starrer Jagame Thandhiram, has come up with the announcement of his next project. Titled Kadaseela Biriyani, the movie, directed by debutant Nishanth Kalidindi, featuring Vasanth Selvam, Hakkim Shah and Vijay Ram in lead roles, is slated for a theatrical release in October. The team has released a one minute teaser which begins with a voice over by Vijay Sethupathi. Tipped as a crime comedy, the story of the movie revolves around the journey of three youngsters from Tamil Nadu who go to Kerala to take revenge on someone.

Shot in beautiful locales in Kerala, the indie film has cinematography by Azeem Mohammed and Hestin Jose Joseph. Judah Paul and Neil Sebastian has composed music for the movie which has background score by Vinoth Thanigasalam and editing by Ignatious Aswin. In a release issued by Sashikanth, he said, "We felt that Kadaseela Biriyani deserves a mainstream release, and hence, decided to present it to movie buffs in the theatres this October.” He took to Twitter to thank Vijay Sethupathi for lending the voice over to the teaser. Sashi's Aelay, directed by Halitha Shameem, had a television premiere earlier this year followed by a release on Netflix.

Nishanth, who has made a few short films, music albums and ad films, said, "Unlike earlier attempts in crime comedy, this film will be different in terms of its storytelling and characterizations." The makers also announced that an announcement on its innovative soundtrack, designed by debut music composers, will be made for film buffs in the coming days. The teaser which features the tagline, 'Some stories only begin after the end', has Vijay Sethupathi guffawing towards its end, followed by his voice over 'You will soon get to know why I laughed'.
