Kajol, who has been working in Hindi cinema for more than 30 years, has stated that she has always made an effort to strike a balance between her professional and personal life. The actor spoke to PTI on how she was able to balance her personal and professional life with the help of her family and producers.

Kajol on work-life balance

Kajol stated that she didn't do four films at the same time; she was one of the few people who worked on one film at a time. The actor used to put one film out there and then start another. 20 or 30 hours of work eluded her. She was very open about their limited hours, and her mom agreed.

This issue arises as the entertainment industry mulls over the pros and cons of working eight hours a day, following rumours that Deepika Padukone left Spirit citing scheduling conflicts. After becoming a mother, Kajol revealed that she had similar conversations in her life.

Juggling films and family responsibilities

She remarked that she remembers their conversation and believes that most producers are similarly inclined — they don't even hesitate. The actor highlighted several instances where filmmakers were there for her when she needed them. It was a challenging situation—she was filming U Me Aur Hum during her dad's hospital stay, and Nysa was only two years old. However, Ajay, in his capacity as producer, handled the situation; he found a way to accommodate her need to return home early to visit the hospital.

According to Kajol, even throughout her time on Fanaa, the crew was able to work around the issue without causing any problems or even mentioning it in the contract. As a result, she has had wonderful adventures. The actor shared that the vast majority of the time, producers will figure out a way to accommodate them.

Kajol's next film Maa

Meanwhile, Vishal Furia's Maa is a horror movie that Kajol will star in next. A mother fights a demonic curse by using the power of Goddess Kali in this film. According to the actor, the legendary setting of the novel was what first drew her to it.

Maa, which was written by Saiwyn Quadras and produced by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, is set to premiere on June 27.
