Kalamkaval box office day 11: The Malayalam megastar Mammootty’s latest thriller Kalamkaval, which was having a successful run, has earned less than Rs 1 crore at the ticket window, marking its lowest numbers yet. Despite the low-scoring Monday, Kalamkaval is just touching distance away from the milestone of Rs 75 crore at the box office.
Mammootty’s Kalamkaval box office
The 2025 Malayalam thriller Kalamkaval, starring Mammootty and Vinayakan, recorded only Rs 0.75 crore on its second Monday at the box office, as per early estimates on trade tracker Sacnilk. It needs to be pointed out that the Jithin K Jose directorial, which revolves around a serial killer and a cop out to nab him, has been performing consistently well now. However, Kalamkaval has earned Rs 74.5 crore in worldwide collections, an impressive number as it takes the eighth spot on the highest grossing Malayalam films of 2025. The total India Malayalam net collections of Kalamkaval is at Rs 32.95 crore. The Mammootty-starrer has already surpassed Kunchacko Boban’s Officer on Duty and Asif Ali-starrer Asif Ali, that are now in the ninth and tenth spot, respectively.
However, Mammootty’s film will face competition at the box office as actor Dileep’s Bha Bha Ba, which also features Mohanlal, would release in theatres on December 18, 2025. Cinephiles online are divided over watching Bha Bha Ba in the theatres, after the actor was acquitted in the Kochi actress attack case. With Kalamkaval registering a slump, it remains to be seen how much the film would collect in the remaining days of the week.
Kalamkaval is already the best Mammootty film of the year, both in terms of the narrative and the box office performance. His previous film Bazooka and Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse had a forgettable BO run. Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse is finally set to make its OTT debut on Zee5 via OTTplay Premium on December 19, 2025.
