Director Balaji Mohan, who last helmed one of the segments in the Amazon Prime original series Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadhaa this year, is set to make his next outing. Kalidas Jayaram, Amala Paul and Dushara Vijayan have been roped in to play lead characters in the untitled project which will go on floors soon.

The makers released a picture of Kalidas and Balaji posing for a photo together. The former is on a roll this year - with three releases already - Lokesh Kanagaraj's Vikram, Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi's Paper Rocket and Pa Ranjith's Natchathiram Nagargiradhu. Interestingly, the Ranjith directorial had Dushara, too, essaying a lead role in it. Balaji's movie will bring both the actors together for the second time.

Maari 2, starring Dhanush in the lead, was Balaji's previous feature film. He is now co-producing aha Tamil's Mad Company which is set to drop on the platform soon. Earlier this year, he had revealed that he is foraying into Bollywood with the movie Click Shankar, which revolves around the story of a peculiar cop.

Composer-turned-filmmaker Darbuka Siva, who helmed Mudhal Nee Mudivum Nee for Zee5 this year, has come on board as the music director of his next Tamil film. Its shooting will be happening at London.

The project also brings together both Balaji and Amala Paul after the former's first film Kaadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi which was released in 2012. The team has issued a release which has Kalidas expressing excitement over teaming up with Balaji.

He says, “I have been a big admirer of his movies and short films, especially his love stories. I am happy to be part of another feel-good entertainer. I'm sure it will be fun to work with Amala Paul and Dushara Vijayan."
