The wrestlers' protest, that involves participation of Olympic medalists, has been rocking the country for a month now. Sadly, not many celebs have come forward to express solidarity with them. Veteran actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, who is also an active politician for a while, has now broken the silence.

He has taken to his Twitter page to remind everyone that it's been a month since the protest has kicked off and that it is quite unfortunate they have to lead a battle like this. He also came up with a hard-hitting question on who among the wrestling champions and a criminal politician deserves attention.

The tweet read, "Today marks 1 month of protests by athletes of the wrestling fraternity. Instead of fighting for national glory, we have forced them to fight for personal safety. Fellow Indians ,who deserves our attention, our national sporting icons or a politician with an extensive criminal history? (sic)."

The Ulaganayagan also added the hashtags #IStandWithMyChampions and #WrestlersProtest along with the tweet. He has been garnering praise from many quarters for his brave and unconditional support to the champions. We'll have to wait and see if more celebs join the bandwagon.

Addressing the controversial politician as a person with criminal history is expected to bring brickbats, too, for the veteran from a few quarters. Meanwhile, a few people questioned him for not addressing some of the pertinent issues in Tamil Nadu.

Kamal is now busy with Shankar's Indian 2, the shooting of which is happening at a brisk space. A video of the director and composer Anirudh jamming together has been doing the rounds since yesterday. The project marks the second collaboration of Kamal with Shankar and Anirudh after Indian and Vikram respectively.
