Kollywood movie buffs were surprised when it was officially announced a few months ago that the Nayagan duo Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam are teaming up again. Their fans are eagerly looking forward to the collaboration and the project will be bankrolled under Raaj Kamal Films International.

Tentatively titled KH 234, it is likely to go on floors next year. While Mani made Ponniyin Selvan 2 a month ago, Kamal is busy with Shankar's Indian 2 which will be released in 2024. On Mani's birthday today, PS 2 started streaming on Amazon Prime Video a few hours ago.

Kamal took to his Twitter page to wish the maverick filmmaker on his special day and posted a picture featuring the two. He described him as the 'doyen of Indian Cinema who has touched the hearts of millions through his art and the one who transformed dialogues into a lovely visual experience'.

Heaping praise on the veteran director, the Ulaganayagan said that the former constantly pushed the boundaries of cinema unmindful of the scale of challenge by constantly learning and that he is a master today who inspires the next generation of filmmakers.

He further wrote, "From Nayakan to #KH234, our journey together has been personally rewarding and enriching for me. Many more happy returns of the day and more to come my friend! (sic)."

According to the Vikram star, if one were to count life by the happiness that they create around them and if age is calculated by the friends around you, Mani Ratnam is going to be a much older man today. Fans are curious to know if Mani's film will be the immediate project Kamal will be doing next. The actor-filmmaker was supposed to team up with Mahesh Narayanan after wrapping up Indian 2.
