Amid speculations of Kamal Haasan's production house set to bankroll a new project, a surprise tweet from the social media handle of Raaj Kamal Films International has left movie buffs thrilled. There have been reports that Silambarasan's next film, tentatively titled STR 48, would be produced by the leading banner.

According to the grapevine, Desingh Periyasamy will be at the helm of the movie. There are unconfirmed reports suggesting that the story of the film was the one the director had considered for Rajinikanth sometime ago. The project with the Superstar, however, was dropped after initial stages of discussion.

A short video has also been unveiled along with the caption "See you on the battlefield at 6.30 pm tomorrow. #BLOODandBATTLE (sic)." Despite the widespread speculations, the surprise has left cinephiles wondering. Anirudh is said to have come on board to score music for the project which is the 56th film of the production house.

Post Vikram, which was the last release of Raaj Kamal Films International, they announced one project each with Udhayanidhi and Sivakarthikeyan. As the former has completely devoted his time to politics, another actor is likely to replace him in the untitled movie.

On the other hand, the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer will have Rajkumar Periasamy helming it. Sai Pallavi has been brought on board to essay the female lead in the movie which is billed as a big budget project.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan is now busy with the last leg shooting of Shankar's Indian 2 which is expected to hit the screens in 2024. Mahesh Narayanan, Pa Ranjith and Vetrimaaran are a few filmmakers the Ulaganayagan is likely to team up next, apart from the sequel to Lokesh Kanagaraj's Vikram.
