Kanam trailer: Sharwanand, Amala Akkineni play lead roles in this time travel-based family drama

Debutant Shree Karthick's Kanam, which is touted to be a family drama with elements of time travel in it, is slated for a theatrical release on September 9. The bilingual flick will hit the screens in Telugu under the title Oke Oka Jeevitham.

SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu have bankrolled the film which will be released under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures. The makers have now unveiled the film's trailer which provides a glimpse into its plot. The two-and-a-half minute promo video hints at time travel being the prime aspect in the movie which revolves around a mother-son relationship.

Kanam, which has Sharwanand playing the lead, is all about an aspiring singer who suffers from a personal issue, yearning to go back to his mother. How he is able to revisit his past with the help of an eccentric scientist forms the rest of the story.

The highlight of the movie is said to be the series of unanticipated incidents that unravel after a few changes are made in his past. Nasser, Ritu Varma, Sathish and Ramesh Thilak play important roles in the project while Amala Akkineni is returning to Tamil cinema with Kanam in the role of a doting mother.

Sujith Sarang and Jakes Bejoy have handled cinematography and music respectively for the movie which has editing by Sreejith Sarang, action choreography by Sudesh Kumar and art direction helmed by N Satheesh Kumar.    

Priyadarshi Pulikonda and Vennela Kishore are essaying roles enacted by Ramesh Thilak and Sathish in the Tollywood version. A few notable attempts like Indru Netru Naalai, 24 and Dikkiloona have been made in Tamil on the concept of time travel. Film lovers are curious to know how makers of Kanam have explored the unique plot.
