Kanguva, the highly anticipated period action film that stars Suriya in the lead role, is now nearing the final stages of its production. The movie, which is helmed by hitmaker Siva, is set in a fantasy world of the medieval ages. The makers of the project have already kicked off the promotion of the film with the release of its highly anticipated teaser. Meanwhile, a major update on the Kanguava OTT platform is also out. The post-theatrical streaming rights of Suriya and Siva’s film have been bagged by Amazon Prime Video.
Kanguva to get its OTT release on Amazon Prime Video
In the Amazon Prime Video event that was held in Mumbai today (March 19, 2024), it has been confirmed that the streaming giant has bagged the OTT streaming rights of Suriya’s Kanguva. The update was officially announced by the cast and crew members of the highly anticipated film, including leading man Suriya, lead antagonist Bobby Deol, and director Siva. The project will stream on Amazon Prime Video after completing its theatrical run. Kanguva is expected to be released in more than five languages on the platform.
Suriya opens up about Kanguva
The National Award-winning actor, who attended the Amazon Prime Video event along with team Kanguva, extensively spoke about his collaboration with the streaming giant. Suriya, who addressed the audience at the event, stated that films coming to an artist are a blessing. The actor revealed that his experience shooting for Kanguva got better with each day and credited director Siva, producer KE Gnanavel Raja, D.O.P Vetri, and music composer Devi Sri Prasad for the same.
Suriya, who feels that it is exciting to get into unknown territory, added that it is very important for him as an actor who has completed 25 years in the film industry. He revealed that it was a joy working with team Kanguva for over 150 days and further added that the team is hoping that the audience will equally love what they have created together.
