Kannada film superstars have joined in on the Rajyotsava celebrations with great ardour and are taking to social media to send out their special wishes. Kannada Rajyotsava marks the merger of all Kannada-speaking regions in southwestern India in 1956 and it was on this very day, exactly 17 years later, that the Mysore state was renamed as Karnataka.

Citing the significance of the occasion and the value it breathes into the lives of the people of Karnataka, top celebs like Darshan Thoogudeepa, Kiccha Sudeep and others have come forward with their warm wishes.

"Let's teach Kannada, let's continue to speak Kannada and let's continue to work hard for the prosperity of the Kannada land," wrote Kaatera actor Challenging Star Darshan in his social media post to wish all his fans a happy Kannada Rajyotsava.

Kiccha Sudeep, who is currently busy shooting for 'Max', sent out Rajyotsava wishes to Kannadigas across the world in his tweet. Aside from his many movie commitments, Sudeep is also gearing up for the Kannada Chalanchitra Cup or 'KCC' whose fourth edition is set to begin this December.

Rishab Shetty, the Kantara star, wrote Kuvempu's iconic words, Elladaru Enthadaru Iru... Endendigu Nee Kannadavagiru, before wishing everyone a happy Kannada Rajyotsava.

Senior actor Shiva Rajkumar, who recently scored a hit with the heist thriller 'Ghost', too, echoed the sentiments of joy with his post.

In the same vein, Rakshit Shetty sent out a similar wish to all his fans through the social media handle of his production house, Paramvah Studios.

Fellow actors Golden Star Ganesh, popular Karnataka cricketers Dodda Ganesh, Vinay Kumar, and others, and several other noted names from Karnataka took to social media to celebrate the momentous day with their fans and followers.
