Vishnu Manchu’s upcoming mythological magnum opus Kannappa is onto the second shoot schedule at New Zealand. The makers of the upcoming film took to their social media pages to share a behind-the-scenes footage of the cast and crew of Kannappa gearing up for their massive shoot at New Zealand. The video features director Mukesh Kumar Singh and leading star Vishnu Manchu, along with other crew members, taking a stroll at the location in New Zealand and are seen discussing the shooting plans.
Actor Vishnu Manchu is sporting a thick beard and is seen in his bulky physique to step into his mythological character. With the film’s shooting going on in full swing, we cannot wait to see what the makers are preparing to serve the audience soon!
The upcoming film is helmed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, who is a popular actor from the Mahabharata series, and is making his directorial debut in Telugu with the drama. The film is said to be based on the ancient story of Kannappa, a devotee of Hindu god Shiva, who plucked out his eyes in an act of devotion. The magnum opus’ camera is cranked by Hollywood cinematographer Sheldon Chau. The music for the upcoming drama is scored by Stephen Devassy and Mani Sharma. The movie is set to be a pan-India project and will be dubbed in multiple languages. The movie is bankrolled by Vishnu’s father, actor Mohan Babu under Ava Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory banners.
According to previous reports, the upcoming mythological film is said to have a star-studded cast that includes Mohan Babu, Mohanlal , Shivarajkumar, and Prabhas. Earlier, the makers had announced that Kollywood actor Sarath Kumar was roped in for the film. Expressing excitement about the update and sharing images of Mohan Babu and Sarath Kumar, the production houses wrote, “Two superstars, the legends ‘Pedarayudu', Mohan Babu Sir and Sarath Kumar Sir, unite for 'Kannappa' in New Zealand. Adding their immense star power to this highly anticipated Indian cinematic extravaganza. Get ready for a legendary tale of devotion and grandeur! (sic)”
