On the podcast, Karan narrated the incident where he got a reality check from the girl he pretended to have a crush on."She was also Headgirl. In 10th standard, every boy was crushing on a girl. So I thought I should also join this bandwagon and start crushing on her. I gave her a card, no rose, on Rose Day, not Valentine's Day. She took my card and then called me. And maybe, she was my first reality check," he recalled.

The filmmaker further mentioned, "She said, 'You didn't want to give me this card, do you?' I said, ‘No I think you are really nice and I like you.’ She said, ‘Ya, but like you don’t want to give me this card or rose?' And I thought it was rather evolved of her because I really didn't."
