During the promotions of his recently released web series, Raisinghani vs Raisinghani, television actor Karan Wahi spoke about how he does not wish to work in films anymore.

Karan on Bollywood films

In an interview with Indianexpress.com, Karan was asked why he does not work in Bollywood anymore. The actor replied that he had worked on some film projects, but these did not materialise. He further stated that he does not want to do a film just for the sake of it. Karan also said that even while working with the biggest producer or director, if the part is not important enough, he will not be offered any other work in the future. He prefers to play a small part on TV, which is important and effective, than just feature on a film screen to satisfy his ego, he explained.

Speaking about the current Indian audience and how they perceive content, Karan said that the Indian audience is used to coming back to a character over and over again. He said that there are certain restrictions on television that have been broken by OTT platforms.

Commenting about the diversity of content of different OTT platforms, Karan said, “We give credibility to certain platforms, and that norm should completely change. As an actor, there have been times... I wished to work on a particular OTT channel, but that is not because they have better content, but because I have felt, that despite doing a good show, it has not reached the masses.”

Karan’s reunion with Jennifer Winget

Karan was recently seen sharing screen space with television actress Jennifer Winget in Raisinghani vs Raisinghani, which was released on Sony Liv. The pairing grabbed media attention as the two actors were reuniting after 14 years of the hit television show Dill Mill Gayye.

Speaking about the pairing, Karan said that sharing screen space with Jennifer was nostalgic for him as well as the audience. “It's not just a reunion; it's a reinvention of our on-screen dynamics, which I am sure the audience will like,” he revealed.
