According to Kareena Kapoor, if an actor is talented, stardom will follow.
Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of the few actors who has proven herself with her versatile performances throughout her career. Be it a cheerful Poo from the family drama Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham to being a badass mom in her OTT debut Jaane Jaan, she knows how to ace every role with ease. According to Kareena Kapoor Khan, "stardom will follow" for an actor who possesses talent and can engage an audience with their performance. She also mentioned how some people had questioned her decision to work on director Sujoy Ghosh's Netflix crime drama Jaane Jaan.
Kareena recently stated in an interview that acting talent and stardom go "hand in glove." “If you are great, talented, and people have liked you, connected with you, stardom will follow," she said to Film Companion. It is not like, ‘Oh he has got six-pack abs, he is looking so hot, he is a big star.’ Arree please yaar! Sometimes, I feel like telling those actors, ‘Please wear your T-shirt first. I can’t even look at you.'
The actor went on to say that things have changed since her father Randhir Kapoor, uncle Rishi Kapoor, and grandfather Raj Kapoor were all working in the business. Kareena stated that now, you will survive a long time if you are a good actor.
However, she revealed that some naysayers advised Kareena not to work on the movie. "Someone who saw Jaane Jaan was like, 'Arre, why did you do such a dark film?'" the actor revealed. ‘We are used to seeing you…’ They want that. I am just like, ‘I don’t even want to talk to you. Why did you even watch it?’ They just believe that this is her image. They have built this image about me that she has to do certain kinds of roles.”
