Karthikeya 2 On Zee5: The Nikhil Siddhartha-starrer accomplishes THIS rare feat post its digital premiere

Karthikeya 2 is one of the few movies which surprised film buffs and critics with its box office performance this year. The Telugu movie directed by Chandoo Mondeti went on to impress audiences in Telugu states and north Indian states.

The fantasy thriller, starring Nikhil Siddhartha in the lead, started streaming on Zee5 from Wednesday in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Unsurprisingly, the film has been entertaining the audience in OTT as well. Zee5 has announced that the movie has garnered 100 crore streaming minutes in a span of 48 hours.

The film was re-released recently in one of the theatres in Hyderabad owing to its popularity. Anupama Parameswaran, Harsha, Satya and Srinivasa Reddy play pivotal characters in the film which has Anupam Kher essaying a crucial role. The film's story revolves around a doctor who sets out to trace the mystery behind the anklet of Lord Krishna. 

The unexpected challenges and revelations he faces during the course of his investigation form the rest of the story. Karthikeya 2 is one of the biggest Telugu hits this year, grossing more than 100 crores, among which 30 crores are earned from its Hindi version, leaving Bollywood trade surprised.

The movie entered the top five Telugu films to have collected in the Hindi market after Baahubali 1, Baahubali, Pushpa and RRR, thanks to exceptional reviews and aggressive marketing from makers. The team has ended the film in such a manner that there is scope for a third installment in the Karthikeya franchise.

The first part which was released in 2014, too, was a hit, though its success was limited only to Telugu states. With an impressive start on Zee5, it looks like Karthikeya 2 is set to achieve more records in the coming days.
