Karthi's tweet on Jayaram's character introduction from Ponniyin Selvan leaves netizens in splits

Team Ponniyin Selvan is on a promotion spree with back-to-back unveiling of character posters of different actors in the film. The team had revealed character posters of its lead actors Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Karthi, Trisha and Jayam Ravi much earlier. With less than a month away for its release, the makers are coming up with social media posts of all major characters in the movie.

One of the posters they released today was that of Alwarkkadiyan Nambi which will be played by Jayaram. The role is expected to be one of the entertaining characters in the film.

Alwarkkadiyan Nambi is one of the most hilarious characterizations in Kalki's epic novel Ponniyin Selvan based on which the big budget movie has been made. Nambi's chemistry with Vanthiyathevan, played by Karthi in the project, is one of the attractions in the novel, and film lovers who have read the story are curious to know how Mani Ratnam has presented their combination.

Interestingly, Karthi took to his Twitter page to post a funny comment on Nambi's character essayed by Jayaram. The translated version of his tweet read, "Nambi, I can't believe you have come here, too. Unfortunately, I'm not able to block or report you. You are a real pain in the neck."

Karthi's sarcastic comment left many in splits. A few cinephiles who are big fans of the novel said that they can't wait to see both Karthi and Jayaram sharing screen presence together in the film which will be released in two parts. 

Some others said that Karthi is yet to come out of the character Vanthiyathevan and that they are loving his way of promoting the movie.
