On March 22, it was revealed that producer Sajid Nadiadwala had approved an action film directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and starring Kartik Aaryan in the lead role. After months of script development, Bhardwaj's most ambitious project seems to be coming to fruition. Pre-production is underway, with the goal of beginning filming in late 2024. In the middle of such news developments, a fresh report hints that this awaited movie is titled Arjun Ustara.

According to a news report by Bollywood Hungama, Arjun Ustara is the title of Vishal Bhardwaj’s next directorial. The film was initially expected to feature late actor Irrfan Khan in the lead. However, due to the legendary actor’s untimely demise in 2020 due to cancer, the film will see Kartik in the lead.
The report further mentioned that the action thriller would primarily be shot in Spain and Greece. To suit Kartik Aaryan's schedule, the filmmakers plan to start filming in late 2024. Vishal and Sajid are looking for a prominent female lead to star alongside Aaryan. Aaryan's character is expected to be action-packed and emotionally intense. With numerous action scenes, the movie is budgeted at Rs 150 crore, the report said.

In 2023, Kartik Aaryan was featured in Satyaprem Ki Katha, a romantic drama produced by Sajid Nadiadwala that explores a turbulent marriage. The film performed well in India, earning over Rs 100 crore.
Upcoming projects for Aaryan include Chandu Champion, a sports biopic directed by Kabir Khan and inspired by Indian Paralympic swimmer Murlikant Petkar. This movie will be released on June 14, 2024. The shooting schedule of the movie was wrapped up recently.
Aaryan will later also return as Rooh Baba in Bhool Bhulaiyaa Part 3, a sequel to the popular horror-comedy series. Kartik is currently shooting for the Anees Bazmee directorial. Triptii Dimri of the Animal fame will be the leading actress in the third edition of this horror film.
