Actor Suriya’s Karuppu is one of the most-expected Tamil films of this year, with the makers yet to announce a release date. Written and directed by RJ Balaji, the silence from the maker, has irked fans enough, that the filmmaker himself took it upon himself to break the silence and drop some crucial updates.
Karuppu: When is Surya film releasing?
Karuppu is an upcoming Tamil film featuring actor Suriya in the lead role. RJ Balaji, who has made films like Veetla Visheshan and Mookuthi Amman, will be helming the film. It has been a while since Karuppu was announced but the silence regarding its release date has always been lingering. Fans have grown beyond impatient asking the makers to give an update about the same, on social media.

On the occasion of Pongal, RJ Balaji while wishing fans, also dropped some updates. While it common for movie makers to release posters for each festival wishing fans, sometimes which end as the only update about the film, RJ Balaji in his own humour sense took a dig at the trend and said that no such poster wishing for Pongal will be out from Karuppu. "We have exhausted all posters and the second single will contain the information about the release date. Until then, no updates on Karuppu will be out. Whenever Karuppu comes out, it will be enjoyable by fans. Thank you for all the love and support," he said.

Karuppu is touted to be a fantasy courtroom drama with Suirya playing the lead role. RJ Balaji will also play the villain. It features Trisha as female lead, with actors Yogi Babu, Indrans, Swasika, Sshivada, Natarajan Subramaniam aka Natty, Anagha Maaya Ravi, and Supreeth Reddy in supporting roles. Sai Abhyankkar who scored for Balti and Dude, will be composing music for Karuppu. The film is shot by cinematographer GK Vishnu, with R Kalavanan as the editor.
