Kasautii Zindagi Kay completes 22 years! Ronit Roy pens a heartfelt note

The hit television drama series Kasautii Zindagi Kay - the story of followed the lives of its central characters Anurag Basu, Prerna, Rishabh Bajaj and Komolika Basu - is celebrating its 22nd anniversary. The popular show aired from October 2001 until February 2008, spanning over 1,400 episodes. Marking the occasion, actor Ronit Roy, who played ‘Mr Bajaj’ in Kasautii Zindagi Kay, expressed his gratitude by sharing a heartfelt note on social media.

Ronit Roy celebrates 22 years of Kasautii Zindagi Kay with a heartfelt note

Ronit took to his Instagram stories and shared a picture of himself with his Kasautii Zindagi Kay co-star Shweta Tiwari (who played Prerna in the show). “22 year of Kasautii Zindagi Kay. A show that redefined my career and my life. I thank my fans for the undying love. I thank the entire cast and crew of KZK,” he wrote. The actor also expressed his gratitude towards the producer of Kasautii Zindagi Kay, Ektaa Kapoor. He wrote, “Thankyou @ektarkapoor for making me the iconic Mr. Bajaj.”

Premiered on October 29, 2001, the television series starred Shweta, Ronit, Cezanne Khan, Urvashi Dholakia, Karan Singh Grover, Surveen Chawla, Aamna Sharif.

Kasautii Zindagi Kay’s plot and characters

The story of Kasautii Zindagi Kay began with Prerna (Shweta) and Anurag (Cezanne) falling in love. Despite family differences and other difficulties, the two try their best to continue their relationship. Cezzane’s character was later replaced by Hiten Tejwani. Mr Bajaj (Ronit) as Prerna's 'contractual' husband played a crucial role in the series.

Komolika (played by Urvashi) was one of the iconic characters from the series. Hers was a negative role, who is best remembered for mannerisms, bold fashion sense and classy hairdos. Kasauti Zindagi Kay is counted among the longest running television shows on Star Plus.
