Kate Winslet makes her directorial debut with Netflix's Goodbye June, starring Helen Mirren, Toni Collette, and her son Joe Anders.

Kate Winslet, who has been delivering unforgettable performances in films and series for the past three decades, is ready to take on the role of a director. Filming for Netflix and Working Title Films' Goodbye June, the actor's first feature film as a director is scheduled to take place in the United Kingdom. Cast members of the film include Winslet, Helen Mirren, Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Timothy Spall, and Joe Anders, Winslet's son. Working Title serves as executive producers, and Winslet and Kate Solomon are co-producing the film.
As per reports in Screen Daily, this fictional drama takes place in the present day and follows a dysfunctional family as they band together in the face of unexpected hardship.

The makers are yet to make the official announcement regarding Goodbye June.
Meanwhile, Winslet is all set to attend the BAFTA Film Awards today, February 16. For their work on Lee, Solomon and she have received a nomination for Outstanding British Film. The actor portrays the role of photojournalist Lee Miller in the film.
Moreover, the son of Winslet and Sam Mendes, Anders has an acting resume that includes a leading role in Julia Jackman's 2023 film Bonus Track for Sky as well as cameos in Lee and 1917 (Mendes' film).
Talking about Netflix UK, the introduction on Tom Harper's Peaky Blinders film was completed in December 2024, and it will be available on the streaming giant soon.
Regarding Winslet's upcoming projects, she will next be seen in James Cameron's Avatar: Fire and Ash, in which she will reprise the role of Ronal from Avatar: The Way of Water (2022).
About her outing in the long format, the actor last featured in The Regime, which is a political satire miniseries. In the series, Winslet plays Elena Vernham, a chancellor in an autocratic Central European regime whose power is slowly jeopardized by internal strife. The Regime is currently streaming on JioHotstar in India.
