Action enthusiasts have been excited ever since the announcement of Antony Varghese Pepe's upcoming film, Kattalan. The film was kickstarted by its makers today (August 23) in an event held in Kochi.
Kattalan filming update
According to photos shared on social media, the film's major cast and crew participated in the event. They also revealed Kattalan's title motion poster, indicating that in addition to Malayalam, the movie will be released concurrently in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada. Speaking at the ceremony, Pepe said he was thrilled to be working on this project, his first big-budget project. The young star also expressed his gratitude towards his friends who made this film possible. Fans of the Chaaver actor anticipate that the producers will soon release Pepe's character poster and an update on the movie's theatrical debut.
Stellar cast of Kattalan
The makers of Kattalan, which is touted to be centred on power struggles and ivory hunt, had disclosed that Rajisha Vijayan, Jagadish, Siddique, and Baby Jean are also involved. This thriller also features appearances by Telugu actor Sunil and Marco's antagonist Kabir Duhan Singh. The well-known YouTuber and playback vocalist Hanan Shah will also make his acting debut in the movie, which is expected to be released this year. His well-known song Chirapunji Mazhayath is taking over social media.
The Antony Varghese-starrer also has Shon Joy and Telugu actor Raj Tirandasu in important roles. Shon Joy became well-known with Alappuzha Gymkhana, which is currently available for streaming on Sony LIV and OTTplay Premium, while Raj is well-known for his performance in a negative role in Allu Arjun's Pushpa.
The film is being produced by Shareef Muhammad under the banner of his Cubes Entertainment company. The previous project of this production company was Marco, which is accessible on OTTplay Premium and Sony LIV. The makers also confirmed that B Ajaneesh Loknath, who is renowned for Kantara, will compose the background music and soundtrack for Kattalan.
