On February 19, filming for the second season of Malayalam's first original web series, The Kerala Crime Files, got underway. Director Ahammed Khabeer announced the start of filming Kerala Crime Files Season 2 on social media by sharing a picture of a clapboard from the set with the caption, “Filming Starts Today. Need all your Blessings. (sic)”. Actor Aju Varghese had earlier announced the second installment of the series on social media and expressed his excitement about it.
On Disney+ Hotstar, the first Malayalam original web series debuted in 2023. With just one clue—a fictitious address—a group of six police officers must work together to solve a murder that took place in a suburban lodge room. The previously unveiled poster for the upcoming season implies that the movie's latest inquiry will centre around an abandoned stadium. The poster, which depicts a stadium atop a police cap, alludes to the release of another gripping thriller by the creators of the popular web series.
