Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty is gearing up for the release of his historical drama movie, Kesari Veer. Directed by Prince Dhiman, the film revolves around the real-life story of brave warrior Hamirji Gohil who fought against the Tughlaq Empire to protect the Somnath Temple. In this movie, Shetty will be seen playing the role of Vegdaji Bhil, who joined forces with Hamirji to protect the temple. In a recent interview, Suniel spoke about the challenges of playing his character in the historical drama.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Suniel Shetty described Vegdahi Bhil as a 'larger-than-life' character. The actor revealed it was physically challenging to play the role because of the heavy costumes, weapons, rudraksh beads, and dreadlocks.

"The hot weather, the costumes, made of leather and metal, and the hair added to the challenge. I had to bulk up and train hard as the weapon itself weighed 15 kilos. I had to fight with a hammer-like axe. I had to get used to that weight and balance myself," he told the tabloid.

The actor added that Kesari Veer is all about 'dharma, seva, and karma' that people generally talk about. Revealing why he decided to take up the film, Suniel mentioned, "Producer Kanu Chauhan’s late wife always wanted to do something with the Somnath Temple, which was plundered 14 times for its wealth, but it didn’t destroy the people’s spirit. It was such an interesting story that I said yes."
