It isn’t a matter of surprise anymore that Akshay Kumar is arguably the busiest actor in the business. For many years now, Kumar has been in the reckoning for top roles in Hindi cinema and managed to churn out multiple releases in a single calendar year: 2022 alone has five films in store for all the Khiladi Kumar fans!

And in the same vein, the Raksha Bandhan actor has remained one of the highest tax payers not just from the film fraternity but across professions in India. Reports in the past have suggested that the actor’s income tax fare ranges close to Rs. 30 crores, a whopping number by all means, thus sustaining a trend that has lasted many years now. To make things extra special, the latest reports have revealed that Akshay Kumar has been felicitated with an honor letter, or a Samman Patra, by the Indian Income Tax Department for consistently being one of the highest taxpayers.

Yes, according to an exclusive report by Pinkvilla, the letter comes in acknowledgment and recognition of his contribution towards nation building: while Akshay is currently in the United Kingdom shooting for his next project (reportedly), the felicitation was received on his behalf by his proud team.

A self-made actor in every regard, Akshay Kumar’s career took off in the ‘90s with the success of his multiple Khiladi films. His image as an action star saw him create a niche himself through the decade until he switched things up and took on roles in films of the comedy and romance genre. In 2009, Akshay was reported as the highest taxpayer from Bollywood and has continued to be among the biggest actors in the country.

As far as his upcoming films are concerned, Akshay Kumar will be seen in Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu, and Kathputli later this year. He is currently shooting for the Jaswant Singh Gill biopic called Capsule Gill and will be starring in the remake of Soorarai Pottru, which fetched Tamil Suriya a national award in the Best Actor category. Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff will be headlining Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
