Kiccha Sudeep’s Max wrapped up; fans await release update

It’s been almost two years since Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep last had a film release. Yes, he has been making appearances on television for Bigg Boss Kannada and his endorsements, and even had a couple of cameos, but as far as fans are concerned, Vikrant Rona is the last time they celebrated his theatrical outing.

Sudeep took a while to announce his next film, thereafter, with the rumour mill suggesting collaborations with Venkat Prabhu, Nandakishore, R Chandru, among others, as well as a project that would mark his return to direction. Eventually, producer Kalaipulli Thanu announced that he was backing Sudeep’s next, directed by debutant director Vijay Karthikeya.

At the time, it was said that the Kannada superstar had allotted only a limited number of days to the film, called Max, as he was, reportedly, looking at winding it up fast and moving on to the next. But it’s taken several months, and fans have started to get quite impatient and want an update about its status or, better still, word on when it will be in theatres.

The team, though, has not obliged fans so far, with Sudeep chiming in every now and then that an update would be provided when they had something substantial to share. As of today, though it’s been heard that principal photography of Max has been completed. Stunt choreographer Chetan D’Souza took to social media stating that he’s wrapped up 43 days of intense action on the set of Max. “Since October ‘23, this project has been a whirlwind of growth and learning. Directed the character intro and a massive climax along with few other sequences,” he added.

This update, along with a few posts from fans claiming to have seen the most thrilling showreel of Max after meeting Sudeep, has set expectations high.
