Kick trailer: Santhanam is back to his forte, comes up with funny one-liners in this partly engaging promo

The makers of Kick, starring Santhanam in the lead, have unveiled the film's trailer on the actor's birthday. The two-and-a-half minute promo video offers a glimpse into the movie's plot - a swindler falls in love with an ambitious woman who expects nothing but loyalty from her fiancé. 

After realizing this, the former hatches a plan to hide some of his wayward behaviour with the help of his friend. But will he be able to pull it off? Tanya Hope plays the female lead in the movie which has Thambi Ramaiah, Brahmanandam and Ragini Dwivedi among others essaying key roles.

Sandalwood filmmaker Prashant Raj has helmed the film which has music composed by Arjun Janya. Naveen Raj has bankrolled the project which has cinematography cranked by Sudhakarr S Raj. Nagooran Ramachandran and Mohan B Kere have handled editing and art direction respectively for Kick.

Ravi Varma and David Castillo have jointly helmed action episodes while Kula Bhushan has choreographed dance sequences along with Santhosh Sekar. The movie's release date is expected to be announced soon. Santhanam's last outing Agent Kannayiram was a box office dud, and his fans have pinned hopes on Kick which is touted to be a comic caper. 

The actor has also completed shooting for a horror-comedy recently which has been directed by Murugan and Prem Anand of Inimey Ippadithan fame. The movie is likely to be on the lines of Dhilluku Dhuddu franchise which the actor was part of in 2016 and 2019.   

Santhanam had recently courted controversy after he posted a video in which he was seen along with a tiger. Twitterati lashed out at him for being insensitive to the animal.
