After a long wait and anticipation, the announcement of King, directed by Siddharth Anand, was made on November 2, on the occasion of Shah Rukh Khan's 60th birthday. This action thriller film is expected to be one of the biggest action films in Indian cinema. Amid this, a new report mentioned that King has become India’s costliest action film, featuring 6 mega action sequences.
King budget
Bollywood Hungama reported that the budget for King is around Rs 350 crore, excluding whatever money Shah Rukh Khan and his team decide to spend on printing, promotions and other incidental expenses.
The report also mentioned that King started as an action thriller with an extended cameo from SRK, with Sujoy Ghosh as the director.
"The initial budget was Rs. 150 crores only, but the script had scope to go bigger and better. When Siddharth Anand came into the picture, he sat down with SRK to make the film on a grand scale, by designing action sequences on a never-before scale. SRK is a producer who loves to spend and treat the audience with the richest visuals on spectacle. He gave Sid a free hand, and the director came back with a budget of Rs. 350 crores," the source mentioned.

The report also claimed that King is a global film made in India. Siddharth Anand is aiming to do the same thing at a fifth of the cost that it would cost millions of dollars to make in the West. "The film has six extraordinary action sequences, designed to perfection. Three of them are shot at real locations, while the balance three will be canned on the sets," the source shared.
