Shah Rukh Khan's highly awaited action flick King, directed by Siddharth Anand, has recently wrapped shooting a schedule at Mehboob Studios in Bandra, Mumbai, and now the superstar is set to embark on a lengthy tour of Europe. The crew has taken a break before beginning the next big phase of production; Mid-Day previously stated that they had been shooting in Mumbai since May 21.
According to an insider, planning for the European leg has already begun. They are currently securing locations. The source claimed that sleek chase sequences will unfold in the shortlisted cities, which include Budapest, Prague, and possibly Berlin. Anand has apparently instructed his crew to seek some previously unseen locations in his desire for these sequences to be visually extraordinary.
Crucial to the plot is the forthcoming European schedule, which is anticipated to commence in the final week of August. The film's antagonist is portrayed by Abhishek Bachchan, while Suhana Khan's character is supposedly mentored by SRK. Claiming to be a spy thriller, the film will supposedly have breathtaking cinematic locations and high-octane action sequences.
The principal cast is currently on a break, but production on the film is far from over. According to the source, in order to keep the pace going, a few inside scenes will be shot in the next weeks. They revealed that these will be brief, smaller-unit shoots aimed at filling plot gaps without requiring the full crew's return.
Besides starring in the film, Shah Rukh is reportedly involved in many aspects of King post-production, including the VFX.
There's not much known about Rani Mukerji and Deepika Padukone's characters, although they play important parts in the film.
After the smash hits War and Pathaan, King is sure to live up to the high expectations set by Anand, who also directed both films. The makers appear to be shooting for a worldwide hit with their spy thriller, given the crew's fixation on global locales and scope.
