Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi's next project, starring Kalidas and Tanya, to have a direct release on Zee5?

Almost a year ago, Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi announced her next movie during a Twitter Spaces session. She also revealed that Kalidas Jayaram and Tanya Ravichandran will play lead roles in the film which will have travelling as an important aspect. For a while, there hasn't been any news on the project.

The director has now taken to Twitter to inform us that the title and first single of the untitled movie will be unveiled today evening. The tweet also has a picture along with it in which an invisible person is seen driving a car with two hands. The vehicle is seen moving towards an exotic location, thus justifying the film's genre.

Interestingly, the picture has the logo of Zee5 attached to it. It looks like the movie will skip theatrical release and will have a direct release on the digital platform.

Zee5 is organizing an event tonight with a few celebs like Prakash Raj, Vetri Maaran, Kiruthiga, Kalidas, Vimal, Vani Bhojan and Tanya attending it. It is expected that a formal announcement on Kiruthiga's movie will be made at the event apart from other surprises and interesting announcements for movie buffs.

The film marks Kiruthiga's third directorial venture after Vanakkam Chennai (streaming on Sun NXT and Jio Cinema) and Kaali (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar). While the former went on to become a hit film with its songs lapped up instantly by movie buffs, the latter ended up as a dud.

Kalidas currently has Pa Ranjith's Natchathiram Nagargirathu in which he shares screen presence with Dushara Vijayan. Tanya, on the other hand, has Nenjuku Needhi and Maayon in her kitty. The former, a remake of Article 15, has her sharing screen presence with Udhayanidhi, while the latter has her paired opposite Sibiraj.
