Kishore B on Devika & Danny: The series will spark conversations about women and their choices

Ritu Varma, known for her roles in Pelli Choopulu and Mazaka, is all set to make her OTT debut with the JioHotstar series Devika & Danny. The family drama is scheduled to stream on June 6, 2025, and has already created decent buzz, thanks to its teaser, which has caught everyone’s attention.

Kishore B makes a comeback with Devika & Danny

Kishore B, of Sreekaram fame, has directed the series and describes Devika & Danny as not only a fun story filled with romance and drama but also one that conveys a strong social message.

In an interview, Kishore said, "Devika & Danny is a very interesting story about a woman who is confused in love. There are so many situations in life where women are bogged down and trolled for doing what they like. Devika & Danny is one such series that delivers a strong message to today's women."

Ritu Varma plays an independent small-town girl who gets engaged to Subbaraju but ends up falling in love with someone else. A third character, played by Shiva Kandukuri, adds an intriguing layer to the love triangle. “The presence of multiple male characters makes the narrative more engaging, and viewers will be curious to see whom the heroine ultimately chooses,” Kishore added.

A source close to the unit revealed that the series also includes a mythological angle, which has been kept under wraps for now. Devika & Danny also features plenty of comedy, especially through Subbaraju’s character, as shown in the trailer.
