Kishore, who was last seen in Yuva in Kannada, but had films like Jailer and Vettaiyan with Rajinikanth, and Kannur Squad with Mammootty, among others, to his credit in recent times, is gearing up for the release of his next back home.
The actor will be seen in Anamadheya Ashok Kumar, in the role of a journalist, who gets embroiled in a murder case, when the lawyer he interviews, ends up dead. For the police, it’s a straight-forward open and shut case, as he was at the scene of the crime at the time of the murder. But did he do it, or is he being framed? All of this will be unravelled when the film releases on February 7.
Kishore has been busy with the promotions of Anamadheya Ashok Kumar, during which he was asked about the experience of working with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, in whose Sikandar the former has a pivotal, but undisclosed role. Speaking about the AR Murugadoss directorial, Kishore said that it was an eye-opener in terms of why someone like Salman Khan has remained such a big star over decades, which goes beyond just entertaining audiences with his films.
“There are a lot of positives to his behaviour, which is very interesting. There are certain gestures that elevate stars like him. On the set, for instance, during one shot, the height difference between the two of us seemed very apparent and the cinematographer asked me if I could take off my shoes, which I did. Salman saw this interaction and quickly intervened, asking me to keep my shoes on and suggesting to get the shot as is, without such manipulation,” said Kishore, speaking to TV9 Kannada, adding that what it tells him is that Salman is the big star that he is because he doesn’t insist on the focus being only on him.
Given that he had a cameo in Jailer and that a sequel has been announced, Kishore was asked if he would be in Jailer 2. “Oh no, I am not a part of it,” he says.
