Barring the first episode featuring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in it, all the episodes of Koffee with Karan Season 8 aired till date have been dull and boring. The latest episode featuring actors Kajol and Rani Mukerji is also on the same boring tone. Rani Mukerji shares why she felt strange calling Kajol as ‘didi’

During a conversation on the show, Karan reminded the audience that Kajol and Rani Mukerji are cousins. However, he also felt curious to know why they maintain a sweet distance from each other personally and professionally. Hearing this, Kajol said, “It was just an organic distance. Where work is concerned it’s more that both of us liked where we were.”

Rani added, “Because I have known her as a kid and she was Kajol didi for me and it was a bit strange. I guess when you grow apart you really don’t know the reason why because you don’t meet that often because Kajol didi used to stay in town and we were in Juhu. Me and Tanisha were much closer and we are still. But Kajol didi was always closer to the boys of the family. So, it was a bit strange.”

For the unfamiliar, Rani’s paternal cousin in Kajol. Despite this fact, they have been a part of movies namely Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. In both these movies, Rani and Kajol had fallen in love with the same man.
