Kolai trailer: Vijay Antony nails the role of a smart detective in this imperfect murder mystery

The character posters of Kolai which were unveiled sometime ago were quite impressive as they were one-of-its-kind in Tamil cinema. The team has now come up with its two-minute trailer. Though makers had earlier announced that the movie is a murder mystery, the promo video offers more glimpse into its plot.

The film begins with the complex murder of a popular model (played by Meenakshi Chaudhary). How an intelligent detective (played by Vijay Antony) comes up with clues in an unusual manner and finds the killer forms the rest of the story.

Going by the trailer, it looks like movie buffs are going to be in for a treat as the investigation process is likely to stand out. The cinematography by Sivakumar Vijayan is the highlight of the promo video; it reminds us of a few foreign movies shot with high production values. 

Vijay Antony's characterization and his on screen chemistry with Ritika Singh and Radhika Sarathkumar are considered to be another attraction of the movie. Murli Sharma, Siddhartha Shankar, Kishore Kumar and John Vijay are other actors who essay key roles in the project.

Selva RK and K Aarusamy have handled editing and art direction respectively for Kolai which has been produced by Infiniti Film Ventures and Lotus Pictures. Mahesh Mathew has choreographed action sequences for the film which has dance moves composed jointly by Suresh, Milton Obadiah and Chiraag Ranka.

Vijay Antony's last outing Kodiyil Oruvan was released last year. The actor-composer currently has more than half-a-dozen projects in his kitty. Thamezharasan, Agni Siragugal, Khaki, Pichaikkaran 2, Ratham and Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan are a few other movies of his awaiting release.
