Krithi Shetty, GV Prakash come on board for Suriya-Bala's Suriya 41 which commenced in Kanyakumari

The production house 2D Entertainment Pvt Ltd, which is producing Suriya 41, has announced earlier today that the film has begun shooting in Kanyakumari with an official ceremony which was attended by a few crew members. Suriya plays the lead in the movie which is being directed by acclaimed filmmaker Bala with whom the actor had earlier joined hands twice for Nandha and Pithamagan. 

There was speculation that Tollywood actress Krithi Shetty will be roped in to play the female lead in the movie. The makers have now confirmed the same with an official announcement from the social media handle of the production house.

The tweet read, "We are happy to welcome the gorgeous and talented @IamKrithiShetty onboard #Suriya41! (sic)." The actress expressed excitement in being part of the project on her Twitter page. She posted, "Happy to be on board #Suriya41 @Suriya_offl sir #Directorbala sir @2D_ENTPVTLTD. Have been receiving many warm wishes since morning………feeling grateful, thank you so much (sic)."

This is her second film in Tamil; her debut movie, The Warrior, a bilingual flick, has been directed by Lingusamy. The movie, which has been made in Tamil and Telugu, stars Ram in the lead.    

Team Suriya 41 also announced that GV Prakash and Balasubramaniem have been brought on board to compose music and handle cinematography respectively for the movie. GV has earlier scored music for Bala's Paradesi and played one of the lead roles in the director's Naachiyaar. 

It is expected that they will announce details of other cast and crew associated with the project. The picture of the set erected at Kanyakumari where the movie commenced its shooting has been doing the rounds on social media and fans of Suriya hope that the untitled film will be the much-awaited comeback of the actor.
