Kriti Sanon was recently seen in Tere Ishk Mein, co-starring Dhanush. Meanwhile, the film, directed by Aanand L. Rai, has been performing well at the box office too. Now, Kriti, who was already busy shooting for Cocktail 2, along with Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, said that she needed a refreshing film after an 'intense' Tere Ishk Mein.

In an interview with Zoom, Kriti Sanon opened up about her upcoming film, Cocktail 2, the spiritual sequel to the 2012 film, Cocktail. She said that the film is so lovely and added that sometimes things happen in your life for a reason. "Tere Ishk Mein was so heavy, so intense and so draining emotionally. I think I could not have done another intense film immediately. I didn't have it in me. I have just emptied in me. I was wanting to do something fun, refreshing, something I hadn't done before, something that I enjoy," she said.
Speaking more about spiritual sequel to Cocktail, Kriti said that Cocktail 2 just happened at the right time as she was craving for it. She wanted to go to a really young, urban, fun space of rom-com space and it's been fun.
"We have shot almost two major schedules, we are going to start another one right now, in Mumbai. It's got amazing music, I think I am looking so different than I have ever looked. Its going to take modern equations in relationships, very relevant on what it speaks about," she shared.
Sharing experience of working with Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, Kriti said that she had a blast shooting with the two actors along with filmmaker Homi Adajania. As per the actress, Homi's craziness kept them all going for a fun ride.

Kriti and Shahid were seen sharing screen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024). The film received mixed responses. Now, they are all set to reunite with Homi Adajania's Cocktail 2. Speaking about the reunion, she said, "He says, 'Nice to meet you like a human being', you don't have to be bound by not being a human being."
