Kuberaa: Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the film tells the story of a beggar (Dhanush) caught in a financial scam

Kuberaa, the recently released Indian film starring Dhanush in the lead role, along with Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna and others, have been receiving laurels from audience, upon its release on Friday. But has it translated to box office numbers?
The Sekhar Kammula directorial has collected Rs 13 crore in both Telugu and Tamil on day one of its box office collection. The film released in multiple languages.
Dhanush, known for his powerhouse of performances, joined hands with Telugu filmmaker Sekhar Kammula for Kuberaa. The film released in theatres on June 20, and critics and audience have been praising the actor’s performance. Playing the role of a beggar who gets caught in a vicious network of a financial scam, the film also stars Nagarjuna, Jim Sarbh, and Rashmika Mandanna in prominent roles.

As per Sacnilk, the film’s box office collection on day one stands at Rs 13 crore. This is combining both Telugu and Tamil box office collections. The Dhanush-starrer has collected double the amount in Telugu than in Tamil, with Rs 8.75 coming from Telugu collections. With a good word of mouth, the film might see a rise in collections over the weekend.
Kuberaa is set in the financial capital of India, Mumbai, where a wealthy and corrupted businessman trusts a former CBI officer to convert his black money. He in turn, hires four beggars who become benami pawns to indirectly help him in the money laundering scheme. Dhanush plays the role of a beggar, while Nagarjuna is the former cop who turns against the system for his survival. The film’s post-theatrical streaming rights have been bagged by Prime Video. Kuberaa will stream there after the theatrical run.
Dhanush’s raw and realistic portrayal in Kuberaa was much lauded, with fans anticipating that he might bag his third National Film Award for acting.
