The upcoming Dulquer Salmaan starrer Kurup is all set to have its theatrical release on November 12. Also bankrolled by the Ustaad Hotel star, it is considered to be a project that is dear to his heart. He recently took to social media to pen a heartfelt post of his experience on working in the movie along with his team.
The wordplay that he used in the caption, “Kurup, is free from being caged and locked down,” implies the delay of its release which was caused due to the worldwide lockdown from the COVID-19 pandemic. The poster which he put up features the ensemble cast of the upcoming con-film/crime thriller along with Dulquer Salmaan in different montages of the film.
In his post, the actor mentioned how dear and ambitious Kurup was to him which took him on a long and arduous journey from its making to the time of its release. He talked about being in a state of hope and wonderment if his dream project would ever see the light of day. He also mentioned the detailed post-production work that the Kurup team had to go through after nearly one year of filming. “The support, the constant requests from all of you to wait till theatres opened, helped us survive in some of the toughest times,” he penned.
His love for Kurup is evident, for he referred to the upcoming crime-thriller as his ‘second child’ which he nurtured and took care of along with his team. The actor also gave a special mention to the team of his upcoming movie for making it what it is today- from an idea to a movie. After days of the impending wait, it is finally ready to sprout wings and reach the big screens in Malayalam and the dubbed versions of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
Talking about Kurup, the upcoming con-drama is helmed by Srinath Rajendran and backed by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films. Its star-studded cast includes Indrajith Sukumaran, Sunny Wayne, Shine Tom Chacko and Sobhita Dhulipala among others in crucial roles.
