Pindam, the horror drama starring Sriram and Dia actress Kushee Ravi, has wrapped its shoot and is set for a release this November. Srinivas Avasarala, Easwari Rao, Ravi Varma and others play key roles in the film directed by Dallas-based filmmaker Saikiran Daida. The film marks the Telugu debut of Kushee, who expressed her happiness about the project at the teaser launch today.

“I’m here to spook you all (laughs). Thank you for gracing our event, we’re honoured. I never planned my Telugu debut. This is a new language for me. I am learning it now. I didn’t imagine I would be working on a Telugu film. I was in Karnataka and a theatre artiste there; I was just aiming for Kannada films. You all gave me a warm welcome for Dia and I hope you like Pindam too,” she shared.

Kushee thanked Yeshwanth of Kalaahi Media and director Saikiran for believing in her. “Initially, I was a little scared about delivering long dialogues in Telugu but the associate directors, co-director and others helped me. Cinematographer Satish Manoharan was so patient, actors Sriram, Easwari Rao, the kids and the costume designer went out of the way to make me feel comfortable.”

“I am quite nervous because this is the first press event in Telugu, please watch the film and share your opinion. We need your support,” she signed off. Yeshwanth Daggumati is producing the film. Sriram, Kushee’s co-star and the other team members, too had kind words to share about the actress, calling her a one-take artiste and appreciated her for being professional on sets.

Pindam is a pure horror genre film, the makers asserted. It will be a song-less film minus any commercial/cinematic liberties. The shoot was wrapped up within two months. The director of Pindam had earlier helmed a short film titled Smoke. The drama is based on true incidents and the director opined that the horror genre would be the best way to interpret it on screen.
